Cannery Row (with Nick Nolte and Debra Winger) and Milagro Beanfield War (a Robert Redford film) and The Sandpiper (STILL not out on DVD ~ Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton)

Just about anything on the Discovery Channel, and without a doubt "Planet Earth".

I'm a crafting fool. Sew, paint, refinish furniture and gardening. I especially enjoy using "found" items for purposes other that what they were originally intended.

Another great movie is It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World...if you are pushing 60, then you have seen it for sure. It has to be one of the most hilarious movies ever made, too bad so many have not seen it. Buddy Hacket was a riot. The air plane scene totally cracks me up. My all time favorite as a kid was The Creature from the Black Lagoon, I stil watch Boris Karloff in the Mummy, and anything with Clint Eastwood is hot. I thought Magnum Force was one of his better all time fav's. Kirk Douglas was hot, too, in his younger days. My granddaughter and I watch 20,000 leagues under the sea last week. She is five and her eyes were plastured to the screen. Have a great week.

Boni, Thank you for sharing your experiences on my Woodstock piece. My oldest brother was there (Nam) early on and it definetly left an impression on him even though he came out of it alive. My second oldest brother (I actually have three) was at Woodstock. And that left an impression on him. I wanted to go, but my mom would not let me. That period of time has greatly affected who I became in life. Thanks and (((hugs))) Chana

Thanks! Some of the discussions on environment/politics can be pretty frustrating, but sometimes it seems that progress is made. I do think it is more important to discuss with people of different viewpoints than with people who just agree, so Gather offers some good chances. Anyway, I'm with you on the solar/wind vs. petroleum/drilling. Nice to hear about that Victory Garden in your family history.
